The aim of the Baswich & Bromley Project was to raise funds to build a Sensory Garden in St Chad ’s, Corporation Street , Stafford . Baswich & Bromley wards cater predominantly for people suffering from Depression, Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia.
Now the garden is completed, on good days the patients are able to stroll through the grounds and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of being outside. It is a known fact that sunshine and fresh air can greatly benefit these patients. These poor people suffer from complex and perplexing conditions; the final journey they take will be hard and will inevitably lead to sadness and despair. It was our aim to make the most of the life they have, to prolong their ability and keep them involved in, and part of, the environment they live in.
We are so lucky to have healthy minds and to be able to make choices in life and my sincere thanks go to everyone who contributed to the project and who helped me to complete the garden.
